Sponsored by the NMI Council for the Humanities in partnership with the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library and the Public School System, Motheread/Fatheread helps parents read effectively with their children, initiate discussions of the books, improve their parenting and literacy skills, and increase family communication.
“We will continue having the adult course sessions,” said Bryan Manabat, parent trainer. “We invite the parents to join us so they could learn how to use children’s literature to teach their kids.”
Since it is already the Christmas season, there will be Saturday storytelling sessions this month.
“Every Saturday there will be stories on Christmas season themes,” Manabat said.
The event will be an interactive activity with arts and crafts.
“It is storytelling with activities for the children to enjoy. Even parents can join the storytelling session,” said Manabat.
In other related news, the scheduled Motheread/Fatheread session on Dec. 6 has been canceled.
