He attributed this development to the cooperation of the community members.
From 2004 to 2008, he said, there were 350 crimes reported in Dandan,
But only 11 property offenses were recorded last year, he added.
However, he noted that based on the report by the Department of Public Safety, from Jan. 1 to June 30, 2009, Dandan still had the most general crimes on Saipan.
During the same period, he said, Dandan, San Antonio and San Jose were tied for seventh place in the list of villages with most juvenile offenses.
“This report is not encouraging to anybody and should serve as a wake-up call for the community,” Camacho said.
“Any crime is alarming,” he added.
As a “strong advocate for peace,” Camacho is urging all community members to participate in the Neighborhood Watch Task Force.
He said there are many unreported burglary cases and other crimes committed in the community.
The people, he said, should report these incidents to the police.
