It also has glass door to separate the chapel from the main church.
“We expose the Blessed Sacrament continuously in the chapel. It is supposedly open for 24 hours but because of security reasons we close it at night time,” said Fr. Celso G. Magbanua Jr., Kristo Rai parish administrator.
The idea to have a chapel came from the parishioners themselves.
“There were requests from people to have a chapel here so they didn’t have to go to San Roque,” he said.
The first Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel opened in 2005 and is located in San Roque.
The Kristo Rai chapel was sponsored by the United Filipino Organizations and the parish which also received donations from the community.
The opening of the chapel is part of the parish’s celebration of the 25th year anniversary of the Chalan Kanoa diocese.
“An adoration chapel should give comfort and convenience to those who go there to pray. The Lord deserves to be in a comfortable, convenient, and nice place,” Magbanua said.
In other news, confessions at Kristo Rai this year will be heard at 8-9 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The Kristo Rai Parish also invites everyone to the celebration of Magbanua’s birthday on Feb. 1.
