Public Health Deputy Secretary Pedro T. Untalan told Variety yesterday the housing allowance was distributed on Dec. 31.
“What I heard is that everyone got the allowance,” he added.
Just before the New Year, 26 personnel were still waiting to receive their benefit.
Thomas Esack of the CHC respiratory department, one of those who planned to file a complaint in court, has already resigned.
Prior to Dec. 31, other CHC personnel also received their housing allowance, Untalan said.
He said the delay was caused by the review of contracts to ensure that only those eligible and entitled could collect the benefit.
Untalan said they will continue providing the housing benefit to qualified personnel.
Based on current policy, CHC nurses and doctors with dependents receive $800 in the form of a monthly housing allowance, while those without dependents get $600.
