Gov. Anastacio said the installation was to formalize the election.
“Our installation in the office last January was informal and now this isformal.” Anastacio said. “Since I amthe first lady governor of Ngchesar state they (my constituents) said I haveto swear-in again to establish a good relationship with the government.” she added.
Ngchesar State Legislatures have earlier took their oathlast January 5, 2010 after they won in the General State election on November 27, 2009 .
Anastacio who won a legislature seat of8th Ngchesar State General Electionwas elected governor after defeating Duane Hideo in a 9-7 votes in the 16-member Ngchesar state government council.
Ngchesar has a parliamentary kind of government, it is the legislators who will elect the Governor of the State.
Meanwhile, the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Ngchesar road pavement and rip-rap project was held shortly after the inauguration.
This project was funded by Economic Stimulus Package of the Republic of China-Taiwan.
After the rip rap-project, Anatascio said they will have a ground breaking for the continuation of thefour-mileNgchesar rough road connecting tothe Compact Road.
This project is hopefully to befunded again by the Republic of China.
In her remarks, Republic of China-TaiwanAmbassador Maggie Tien , said that Taiwangovernment is doing its best to help Palau, especially for the agriculture, aquaculture, medical services, energy development and others.
“Ngchesar is rich in mangrove, fish,and agricultural crops. If the road will be developed itmay attract investors.” Maggie said.
Ngchesaris one of the remote states of Palau. With its four miles rough road it may take 30 minutes of drivingbefore reaching the state.
In his remarks, PresidentJohnsonToribiong saidhis administration is doing itsbest for thedevelopment of the Republic . He said that he is working withforeign countries to seek financial assistance for the economic development of every state including Ngchesar state.
