Dubbed “Generation Collaboration,” the project will “bring the schools together for a healthy competition,” said MHS Student Council President Adeleyah Mojica.
The students of the three public high schools will compete in one massive pep rally on Saturday, April 10, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. at American Memorial Park.
The freshman classes of the three public high schools will form one group, the sophomores will create another group, and so forth.
This event will be the first of its kind on Saipan.
Officials hope that the students will interact with each other in order to foster friendship and eliminate rivalry among the schools.
Students will compete for a large cash prize that will be evenly distributed among the members of the winning team.
The activities during Generation Collaboration include dance competitions, eating contests and cook-offs.
“There will be more activities,” Mojica says.
Students interviewed by this reporter were upbeat about the event.
MHS sophomore Deveney Dela Cruz says their counterparts from the other two schools are “pretty much solid.”
An MHS junior also has good news to relay.
“The students from the other schools are extremely friendly and helpful,” he says.
Generation Collaboration will not be a required event for students to attend, unlike a regular pep rally.
Asked what will motivate the students to join the event, Mojica replied: “To support their school, their friends, and it would be a fun thing to do on a Saturday night.”
