In its campaign against aggressive drivers, BMV defined them as those who take out their frustrations on anybody at any time by running stop signs or red lights, tailgating, screaming or honking their horns.
“Most of our drivers do not know how to deal with aggressive drivers,” BMV said.
The bureau has distributed flyers on aggressive drivers and safe driving, and these are available at its office and other public places such as the Joeten Enterprises public bulletin.
BMV and the DPS Office of Special Services said good drivers should follow the following steps when encountering aggressive drivers:
• Get out of the aggressive driver’s way
• Do not challenge him or her
• Avoid eye contact
• Ignore gestures
• Report aggressive drivers to police by calling 664-9001
