Marianas Walking Association secretary Mario Espeleta said they are expecting more participants this year.
The event, which will start at the Carolinian Utt in Garapan, is open to all age groups, he said.
“Bring your spouses, families and friends for a friendly walk along the Beach Road pathway,” he added.
Espeleta said Valentines Walk is the group’s first event this year.
“The event is held in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, honoring our loved ones while focusing on enhancing the wellness of our hearts and physical well-being,” he added.
Last year, there were over 60 participants.
“We are looking at 70 participants this Saturday,” Espeleta said.
In December, MWA held its ninth annual Don’t be a Turkey Walk to promote health in the community.
The registration for this Saturday’s Valentines Walk begins at 6 a.m., and the registration fee is $6.
Espeleta said the 10K turning point will be at the bus stop near the Oleai Beach & Bar while the 5K’s will be at the World War II Japanese tank.
Valentines cookies, t-shirts and refreshment will be distributed to the participants.
This year’s event is sponsored by Herman’s Bakery, Coca Cola, the Carolinian Affairs Office, the Marianas Visitors Authority, Island Apparel, Pacific Development Inc., and Joana’s Transport Service.
