“Green Bulletin” will cover environmental volunteering activities and opportunities from October of last year until last month.
It will also highlight some environmental friendly tips for the community.
This first issue focuses on eliminating the use of plastic bags for shopping and groceries and using alternatives such as cloth bags.
It also offer tips on what the community could do during this El Niño year.
In an e-mail, Lisa Hyun Eller of DEQ said she is hoping to compile a list of environmental activities and volunteers through the newsletter.
With over 2,500 newsletters to be distributed every quarter, Eller said she is hoping to see a growth in the number of volunteers.
She said DEQ welcomes contributors for the next issue of the newsletter which will be out in April, the month of “Earth Day.”
DEQ is looking for articles that specifically address living sustainably on a small Pacific island.
