This figure is a slight increase compared to the number of participants in the previous health screening, Philippine Consul General Medardo Macaraig said yesterday.
The average number of participants is 400.
He said the CNMI Pharmacist Association once again joined the Commonwealth Health Center and Hardt Eye Clinic medical teams in the quarterly free clinic.
There were 47 volunteers, including personnel from the consulate general, the Philippine Overseas Labor Office and the Overseas Workers and Welfare Administration.
“The more volunteers we have the more people we can serve,” Macaraig said.
His office will continue to accept volunteer services from other groups, he added.
At present, the services offered include blood pressure and blood sugar checkups and eye vision examination.
Last Sunday, 340 availed of the free blood sugar and blood pressure check-ups while 90 took the eye vision test.
The consulate general was also open last Sunday to provide normal consular services to make up for its early closure on Feb. 27, due to the tsunami alert.
