Man leaves to harvest betel nut, missing

KOROR (Palau Horizon) – The Bureau of Public Safety (BPS) is still searching for the man reportedly missing after he went out to harvest betel nut on Monday atNgaremlengui State


Patrol Division chief Ismael Aguon said Ngirametuker Idesmang, 56, lefthis house between 1 to 2 p.m. on March 1, to harvest betel nut at the jungle area of Ngermeskang.

Five hours later when he has not returned, his family the incident to the police.

Aguon said at around 6:45 p.m. they received a report that the man was missing, police immediately conducted the search but as of this time they have not found Idesmang.

“We are now on the third day of search but there is no sign of him.” Aguon said.

The police together with the Idesmang’s family are now appealing to the public for any information on the whereabouts of the missing man.
