First, the “We don’t travel for pleasure, but it’s part of our function” was meant to be when it’s an official function, then we’ll attend, of course upon availability of funds.
When the Association of Mariana Islands Mayors called for a membership meeting on Guam, we traveled there because this is a group where the CNMI and Guam mayors, along with CNMI municipal council and Guam vice mayors, meet together to tackle local issues affecting their respective islands.
The other clarification is it was not to Guam where I made the decision not to go, but to the Philippines.
