PHS fence project no schedule set yet

KOROR (Palau Horizon) – US Army Civic Action team (CAT-130-01) officer- in- charge First Lt Christopher Gensler said that there is no schedule set yet to continue the fence project at Palau High School (PHS).

He said his team’s priority is the construction of the ongoing Ngardmau Fire Sub-station project which started on Feb. 9.

Gensler, however, said they have already completed the 277 feet of the fence at the PHS and they are trying to do their best to finish at least half of the project by August- when the team finishes their tour of duty.

Earlier, the Ministry of Education (MOE) said the CAT-130-01 will continue fencing the school on March 15 after it was stopped for several weeks.

This fence project was started by the US Navy team and was continued by the US Army team on Feb. 1. The Army said that they have completed more than 200 feet.

The fence to be erected will be 1,759 feet wide and six feet tall.

This project was funded by the United States of Agriculture. The amount of the grant is 52,000 while CAT and their apprentices provided the labor.

Aside from the fence and the fire sub-station, the other CAT-130-01 approved projects are: the Ngiwal Access Road (Phase 1), Ngchesar State Improvement/Fill Project, Compact Road Restrooms and the PMA Gym Renovation.
