Henry is the new Alternative Governor to World Bank Board

KOROR (Palau Horizon) – In a letter to the World Bank Vice President Ms. Kristalina Georgieva, President Johnson Toribiong appointed Ambassador Jackson M. Henry as Palau’s new Alternative Governor to the World Bank Board of Directors commencing on October 12, 2009.


Amb. Henry replaces Mr. Rhinehart Silas who held the same position for the Republic of Palau for the past several years until he assumed a new position at the Asian Development Bank in Manila.

“I am humbled with the continued confidence that President Toribiong bestows on me. I will continue to serve Palau to the best of my abilities and based on my experience in the field of banking”, said Amb. Henry.

Amb. Henry started his career in banking from 1985 to 1991 working as a Commercial Loan Officer at Bank of Guam and First Hawaiian Bank, prior to opening his financial brokerage firm on Guam called Equity-Capital, Inc. Henry also became a licensed stock broker with a Securities License on Guam in 1997 in affiliation with WMA Securities based in Norcross, Georgia as well as member of Mortgage Banking Association and National Association of Stock Dealers (NASD) based in New York. Henry was a licensed Realtor on Guam for 8 years and is a certified Appraiser. Henry is a Xavier High school alumnus and holds an MBA from City University in Washington and was admitted into a post graduate business doctorate degree program in the State of California. Henry is the current non-resident Ambassador of Palau to the Republic of China and holds these positions on a non-paid basis.
