Though he still plays basketball, baseball and volleyball, soccer remains his favorite sport. If he doesn’t have an official practice or game, Tim will usually find an hour during the day to kick the ball around either at the local basketball court or at the beach.
Notice that Tim didn’t say he plays at the local park or at the school field. In fact, he sited field conditions as well as rough play as the things he likes least about the sport.
The best thing about playing soccer, Tim said, is making new friends. “To win at soccer, you can’t do it alone; you need to be part of a team.”
Tim’s dream is to play soccer forever, which is a distinct possibility if you look at the average ages of players in our Men’s league or even on the National Team. Tim hopes that, one day he would play for the CNMI National Team and in college.
Steve McKagan, one of his coaches said, “Tim is a fearless player who never hesitates to take people on, smiling all the while,”
When asked what advice he would give to all the young players out there Tim said, “Try hard and believe in your dreams”.
