Oilouch says his state gov’t legal counsel work not against law

Oiluch said this in response to President Johnson Toribiong’s allegation that it is unethical for Sen. Oilouch to be approving the national budget when he is serving as legal counsel for Airai , Ngchesar, Kayangel and Ngarchelong States.

“It is ethical for Sen.Oilouch approve budget with grant for state government and turn around and collect his legal fees as state legal counsel,” the president said.

He added that he will ask the government prosecutors to look into the matter.

Oilouch in an interview said that he is not violating any law.

“There is nothing unethical about it. I was paid according to my services,” Oilouch said.

He said that the retainer’s fee he is getting from Airai State will cease this month.

For the rest of the states, he said he is billed for the services he provides and is not collecting retainer’s fees.
