One seat of the five-member commission has been vacant since November last year after Mendiola ran for mayor.
The Rota Municipal Council received Manglona’s nomination on Jan. 23, its chairman George Ogo Hocog said yesterday.
“The nominee is more than qualified for the position,” Hocog said.
Manglona, he added, has a variety of experience as school counselor and acting principal.
Last night, the council conducted a confirmation hearing on Manglona’s nomination at the Rota courthouse.
He said they also evaluated the comments from the community members.
Today, the council will announce its decision.
The current members of the commission are chairman Diego M. Songao, vice chairman Ephrem S. Taimanao, secretary Justin S. Manglona, and commissioner Abelina T. Mendiola.
