ABL playoffs begin

KOROR (Palau Horizon) – After elimination rounds where teams jocking up for a better positions, the Amateur Basketball League playoffs kicked off where teams fights once more to get to the next round.


Ranchers who are heavily sponsored by Eurasia Pacific, advanced to the next round as they were able to subdue team PCC with an end score of 89 – 72, while team MEDA moves on when they crushed ream PPR – Shark Attack’s hopes of getting to the following round of the playoff. Including on the list of teams that advances were; Peched team after beating team Ngerchemai with a score of 92 – 51, Surangel Kings when they won over team Meda Boys, 71 – 66. Kabong also rides the winning column after routing team Ngerbuns, 101 -75, while Stingers, High Tide, and Ididers join the group to the following round after beating their respective opponents.

As a result of the wins, teams will be now facing new challenges on the second round of the playoffs as team High Tide meeting with team Surangel and Sons, Ranchers versus Breakers, MEDA against team Stingers today, Tuesday 9th of March, then on Wednseday, Ididers will be facing the team Peched, then the results between Airwaves and Ngiwal 79ers, being played as of press time, will be seeing the number one team, Kabong.

20 teams fighting for this 2009 – 2010 first Amateur Basketball League wanting to join the elite four for the professional league which is slated after the on – going games. Shell Palau is a proud sponsor of the ABL which is supervised and organized by the Palau Basketball Federation.
