The legendary All-Japan Pro-Wrestling Team whose members are very popular in the said Asian country is arriving along with families and some members of the Japanese media on March 24.
Led by veteran wrestler, Muto Keiji whose wrestling career started way back in the glorious time of the U.S.’ Hulk Hogan, the Japanese wrestlers will entertain tourists and local residents with their shows at the Kan Pacific Baseball Field across from
Marianas Resort & Spa in Marpi.
The fights will start at 5:30 p.m. At least 200 chairs will be available for $20 each but the show will be free for those who will be standing to watch.
Marianas Studio general manager Terumi Kitami who happens to be Keiji’s business partner and friend is bringing the
All-Japan Pro-Wrestling on Saipan in a hope that it could help enhance the island’s sports tourism.
Atsushi Suzuki, Marianas Studio coordinator and Paloka Mongkeya, a staffer said the Marianas Studio wants to help promote the CNMI to different sports enthusiasts in Japan.
Atsushi said Keiji had visited and enjoyed Saipan a couple of years ago so when Kitami brought up the idea of having a wrestling show here, he did not hesitate because the legendary wrestler has come to love the island so much.
Keiji is the president of All-Japan Pro-Wrestling.
Since December last year, the news about the wrestling stars’ fight on Saipan had been spreading around Japan.
Atsushi said that with the kind of popularity that the Keiji and the rest of All-Japan Pro-Wrestling have in Japan, he could already tell how wrestling fans there would love to follow them here to watch the show.
