In the majors division, Ol’ Aces’ Jesse Brel who pitched for the Saipan All-Stars had a no-hitter game to hold the Rota All-Stars scoreless.
He struck out 12 of 15 Rota All-Stars’ batters, and walked only one to hand the Saipan All-Stars a 12-0, mercy rule victory.
In the second game, the Saipan All-Stars beat the home team, Tinian All-Stars, also via 10-run mercy rule. The Saipan All-Stars put up the lead in the six-run first inning with Brel hitting a two-run home run and Mike Muna, two RBI triple.
Tinian All-Stars tried to keep pace with Saipan as KJ Neighbors the second two-run shot of the game.
In the opening game earlier, the Tinian All-Stars shut out the Rota All-Stars, 13-0, with D-Boy Dela Cruz pitching four strong innings.
KJ and Ignacio Borja had back to back solo home run to lead the Tinian All-Stars.
The Saipan All-Stars and Tinian All-Stars will meet again at 9 a.m., today.
In Junior division, the Saipan All-Stars also routed Rota, 14-1. They will face again at 10:30 a.m. today to advance to the championship.
Jared Sablan went 2-for-4 and scored one run, while Jeremy Lizama and Jonathan Cabrera had two runs apiece to secure Saipan All-Stars’ lead.
In Senioir league, Saipan also clobbered Rota, 12-2 and will face off at 12:30 p.m., today.
So was in the Big league, where Saipan All-Stars pounded Tinian All-Stars, 13-0 with Joshua Jones and Ionis Rasa strengthening the mound to hold the Tinian All-Stars scoreless.
They allowed only four hits.
