NMI team swims in gold

The males once again conquered their opponents with Rezne Wong in the lead, earning a total of five medals. Wong placed first in the men’s 400 sc meter individual medley, 100 sc meter breaststroke, and 50 sc meter butterfly. He then received second place in the boys 50 sc meter freestyle, trailing fellow CNMI swimmer Kailan Staal, who received first.

Staal followed Wong with two gold and two silver medals. He placed second in the men’s 50 sc meter butterfly and the 100 sc meter breaststroke.

Kensuke Kimura received two gold medals and one silver, while his brother Shin Kimura earned another two gold medals.

Kensuke earned his gold medal through the men’s 200 sc meter backstroke. Kensuke trailed Wong in the 400 sc meter individual medley, finishing the event in 5:03.98.

Shin on the other hand, placed first in the 1500 sc meter freestyle event. After Shin came Andrew Kimball, earning bronze in the same category.

Michael Moran also earned a bronze medal after placing third in the 200 sc meter backstroke.

Once again, Kensuke, Shin, Wong, and Staal blasted their way to the top in the 400 sc meter medley relay, followed by the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

Table tennis team receives more medals.

After winning their first set of gold from the men’s team event, the CNMI’s table tennis team received more gold and silver medals yesterday in men’s doubles and singles event.

The doubles teams consisted of Budhi Man Gurung, Steve Lim, Su Yongdong, and Luke Lu.

CNMI baseball beats Guam, loses to Palau

Variety learned that the CNMI national baseball team conquered Guam last Wednesday, beating them with a score of 6-2.

In their match yesterday against Palau however, the CNMI came up short by one point, losing 5-6.

Palau remains undefeated at the moment, beating Kosrae, Yap, and Guam in their previous games.
