School principal Bobby Winkfield said the incident may have occurred between Monday night and early Tuesday morning.
The school reported the incident immediately to the Department of Public Safety, he said.
Winkfield said the burglar entered through one of the windows of a classroom.
“I am praying and hoping their heart is touched, and that they will bring back the computer,” he said
There was evidence of failed entry in three other classrooms, he added.
The classroom where the burglar broke into has no alarm system, but the school has already installed alarm system in the other rooms.
“We are on the process of upgrading our security measures,” Winkfield said.
They have no security guard to monitor the school premises.
But Winkfield said the school is “very well lighted.”
“It was a very bold move for the suspect to break in,” he added.
He described the incident as “very disappointing” as he urges members of the community not to buy stolen items.
