The children, ranging from six to 10 years old, were participants of the summer reading program and the healthy dance classes of the Wise Women Village Project and Rose Dance School.
The distinguished guest, led by Guam first lady Joann Camacho, read stories and taught the children action songs.
With Mrs. Camacho were the CNMI’s first lady Josie Fitial, Marshalls first lady Hannah Zedkaia, and Sadaria Fritz, wife of Palau Minister for Resource, Development and Tourism Harry Fritz.
They joined the children in the healthy dance class and distributed recycled bags and books.
Joeten Library executive director John O. Gonzales and children’s library associate Erlinda Naputi organized the read-aloud event yesterday.
Desirae Herrera, Wise Women Village Project coordinator, said having the first ladies for the read-aloud program was a great experience for the children.
