Local fishermen rule Spearfishing contest

Weighing his catch at 152.9lbs., Shmull was victorious taking first place in the spearfishing contest earning him a gold medal, while teammate Yamada finished the day with a catch that weighed a total of 141.8 pounds that garnered him second place and a silver medal. For third, Guam’s Michael Todd Genereux took bronze when he came hauling in 93.25 lbs catch.

To complete the standings, Taylor Paul of Pohnpei caught 75.25lbs putting him on 4th place while Rodney M. Edmond settled for 5th place when he used his skills in spearfishing catching 67.5 lbs of fish.

On the other hand, Palau was not able to maintain momentum on the team events as they succumbed to team Guam who caught a whopping 100 lbs of fish that led them to capture gold.
