Mario Espeleta, one of the organizers, said the registration is free and begins at 7 a.m. There are two courses: a 4K walk and a 2K walk.
Souvenir shirts will be on sale for $7 each.
Free refreshments and raffle surprises from IT&E await lucky participants.
The aqua walk in other countries are held in swimming pools. On Saipan, it is held in the clean waters of the lagoon.
“We are inviting everyone to join this unique walking event that brings therapeutic effects to the body,” Espeleta said.
Red flag at 3 sites
(DEQ) — The Division of Environmental Quality analyzed water samples collected from Saipan’s recreational beaches and storm drainages on Wednesday.
Samples collected from DPW Channel Bridge, the former Dai-Ichi Hotel and the Hafa Adai drainage, contained excessive concentrations of fecal indicator bacteria.
DEQ has given these locations a red flag and advises the public not to fish or swim within 300 feet of these locations for the next 48 hours or until otherwise notified.
