Rufino Aguon, the association’s president, said Palauan cultural dancers are always willing to participate in such events as the Flame Tree Arts Festival or the Taste of the Marianas.
Last year, he said the Palauan community joined the Liberation Queen contest and their candidate, Richelle Mungwaath, was the second runner-up.
This year, however, Aguon said their group has yet to discuss whether to join the float competition or the parade on Liberation Day.
“Our participation will depend upon our budget. Our members will have to decide that,” he told Variety.
He said the Palauan Community in Saipan has two cultural dancing groups, and both are regular performers in island cultural events.
