Manta Ray Battalion’s change of command

It’s like how a president has come to his ending term and the next best candidate for presidency comes and fills in that position.

Change of command for JROTC cadets is that special day.

Last June 3,  we celebrated Saipan Southern High School JROTC Manta Ray Battalion’s change of command.

We thanked our current battalion commander, Cadet Lt. Col. Ruby Anne Reyes for a notorious year.

We thanked her as well for being a great leader by helping our beloved battalion retain the Honor Unit with Distinction and hosting a successful military ball for this year.

The main event that most cadets could not wait to see was the part when the current battalion commander relinquished her command to the next best deserving cadet to lead the following school year.

This year’s change of command ceremony, we watched as Manta Ray Battalion’s Cadet Lt. Colonel Reyes of 2009-2010 relinquished her position to Cadet Lt. Col. Welinton David, who will light the way for the Manta Ray Battalion for the incoming 2010-2011 school year.

Once again, thank you to Cadet Lt. Colonel  Reyes and congratulations Cadet Lt. Colonel David!
