Letter to the Editor: Day of reckoning

Since 2008, the threat of payless payroll has been looming within the confines of our legislative branch, but it wasn’t taken seriously until it happened. You see folks, the minority leader, a political veteran up on the hill, can’t fit any of your shoes or possibly comprehend the seriousness of not being able to meet financial obligations, or destroying one’s good credit standings with financial institutions, or simply providing food on the table for your families. The only solution and easy way out he has to offer at a time so critical is to point fingers.

Acting Gov. Eloy Inos, MPLT and CDA should be commended for their quick action, response and solution to a critical matter.  As for the House minority leader, I say this, get off that high horse and stop the blame game and call for an emergency session to immediately rectify any further PAYLESS PAYDAYS.

Suggest doubling the $8 million being requested by the lt. governor for it will prevent future payless payrolls. In turn, government revenue collections will stabilize while our leaders seek other alternative solutions. The stability and well-being of every single government employee (constituents) and their families is now within the palm of your hands Mr. Minority Leader. Act quickly and responsibly.
