Letter to the Editor: Shocked

I would like to share my thoughts regarding driving academies.

Here is a sample of a survey that I would put together about applying for a driver’s license:

How old should a person be in order to apply for a driver’s license?

The legal age for a young adult to be on their own is 18.

Which age should a person be in order to apply for a driver’s license?

18 or 21 (which is the legal age to purchase alcohol)?

You’re 18 and over but don’t have any income. Or you’re a high school dropout and you don’t have any income, and you’re trying to complete school, or get a GED. What kind of financial help can you get to apply for a driver’s license?

Apply for a loan or a grant, or have the driving academy offer a waiver of its fee?

The driving academy they have on Saipan will benefit young inexperienced drivers. How about the ones that are already driving two years or more? Why do we have to go through “driving school”?

Because you will graduate in a cap and gown outfit and be in the  Variety even if you did not pass the course — or is it because the driving school needs your money?

Or maybe because the police can only handle speeding tickets, and the government is out of money, and the driving academy is contributing to the General Fund.

Survey says?
