The board selected John D. Sohl, the executive vice president and chief operation officer, to take over as the new president/CEO.
Fredy Perman, who is the customer care manager, will assume the executive vice president/COO position when the transition is made.
Akinaga is expected to leave corporation on April 26.
In a communication to FSM President Manny Mori, board chairman Sasao Gouland said Sohl and Perman “can lead the management and the operation of the corporation for the people of the Federated States of Micronesia.”
