THE Saipan Humane Society is excited to announce that visiting veterinarian Dr. Katie Hayward and veterinary technician Emily from Banfield Foundation successfully treated 307 patients during a seven-day clinic on the island. These patients came in for a wide range of care, including wellness checks, rabies vaccinations, treatment for broken limbs, animals injured by cars, bleeding disorders, masses, and more. This clinic was made possible thanks to the generous support of the Banfield Foundation.
“From routine care to urgent medical needs, we’ve been able to provide life-saving and preventative care to animals in need,” said SHS Executive Director Guadalupe Attao. “The support from the Banfield Foundation allows us to meet the diverse and critical needs of the animals in our community.”
The Saipan Humane Society remains committed to bringing vital veterinary care to island residents, with additional services already scheduled for the upcoming months:
Mid-June: Health certificates and sick consultations (tentative)
Mid-July: Spay/Neuter services (tentative)
September: Sick consultations (confirmed)
October: Spay/Neuter services (confirmed)
November: Tentative services
When veterinarians are not physically present on Saipan, SHS ensures that the clinic remains veterinary-driven. “Our clinic follows Standard Operating Procedures created by licensed veterinarians,” said Clinic Director Ruby Ma. “For any cases outside of these SOPs, we always consult with a veterinarian, ensuring the highest level of care for every pet we see.”
SHS is not government-funded and relies on the generosity of donors to keep its clinic running. To support the mission, donations can be made via the SHS website at www.saipanhumanesociety.org/donate/, by emailing info@saipanhumanesociety.org/, or by visiting during regular operating hours listed on the website.
