Detective Sabino P. Cabrera said the victim was walking with his dog on the street in front of his residence in Koblerville at about 5 a.m. on May 30, 2010, when he was called by Charlie K. Misaro, the defendant.
During the course of their conversation, Misaro head-locked and punched the victim several times in the face, police said.
The victim suffered a lacerated lower inner lip, his nose bled, and there was swelling on his left lower cheek, police said.
Superior Court Presiding Judge Robert Naraja yesterday imposed a $1,000 bail on the defendant. Misaro was required to post $200 cash, or 20 percent of the bail, and the remaining $800 as unsecured bond.
Assistant Attorney General Peter Prestley is the prosecutor while Assistant Public Defender Richard Miller served as Misaro’s counsel.
Court records showed Misaro was convicted of criminal mischief in June 2009. He served one day in jail and was placed on one year probation.
