4th Pacific Games golf qualifier set for Saturday

According to Jess Wabol, one of the tournament organizers, golfers will shoot from the blue tee starting Saturday all the way to the final qualifier on September.

After this one on Saturday, there will be three more qualifying tournament, Wabol said.

On Saturday, 12 participants are expected to see action which will tee off at 12 noon. Check time is 11 a.m.

The next qualifying round will be held on on July 19 at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort’s East Course.

This will be followed by another blue tee qualifying round on August at the Kingfisher Golf Links, then, the make up game, if necessary, on September at the Laolao West Course again.

Exact dates for the last two rounds will be announced later.

The committee also would like to remind all the participating golfers to be on time. Tee time, as agreed will be at 12 p.m., which means everybody should be at the place earlier.

Wabol sank birdie putts to top the third qualifying round for the Pacific Games during last month’s game at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort’s west course.

Wabol fired 2-under par 34 in the front nine and went at-par in the back to finish two strokes under par 70.

Ret. Judge Edward Manibusan shot 69 to top the first qualifier last March and Tars Olopai holds the second qualifying round’s top gross of 71.
