CUC through attorney S. Joshua Berger separately filed complaints against BFJ Inc. and R&C Corp. in Superior Court.
CUC said BFJ, a wine retailer, and R&C, a tour agency, signed contracts and paid an initial deposit for utility, water and sewer services.
The wine retailer initially paid $588 while the tour agency paid $462.
According to Berger, BFJ’s last payment was made on May 25, 2007 in the amount of $1,667.42 while R&C paid $466.25 on Nov. 20, 2007.
CUC, according to Berger, is seeking damages in the amount of $4,461.72 against BFJ, and $3,509.95 against R&C.
CUC is asking pre-judgment interest of 12 percent per annum against the two business establishments.
CUC is also seeking reasonable attorney’s fees, costs and other relief.
BFJ is no longer listed in the phone directory while R&C’s main office is in Japan.
