The program is designed to assist residents in replacing inefficient home appliances with Qualified Energy Efficient-Energy Star appliances that bare the Energy Star logo.
Qualified Energy Star appliances and rebate amounts are as follows: clothes washers ($300), refrigerators ($300) and room air-conditioners ($150).
Because this is a program with limited funding, applicants must urged to submit a completed rebate application. Only completed applications will be accepted and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Incomplete applications will be returned. Applications will be processed in the order they are received.
Individuals who are recipients of the Weatherization Assistance Program will not qualify for refrigerator and room air-conditioner rebates if they have already availed of such under the Weatherization Assistance Program.
Applications for rebate vouchers may be downloaded from the CNMI Energy Division Office Web site at cnmienergy.com or may be picked at the CNMI Energy Division Office located at Ascencion Dr., House No. 1337, Capital Hill, Saipan, MP 96950 beginning May 3.
For residents in Tinian and Rota, rebate applications may be picked-up and faxed from their respective designated mayor’s offices. Contact your respective mayor’s office for designated locations at 433-1800 on Tinian and 532-9451/2 on Rota.
