Natibu, Island Rebels stay strong

Island Rebels 22, Chura 21

With two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, Mitch Aaron rocketed a two-run home run to help the Island Rebels wipe out Chura’s four-run lead and win the game.

The Island Rebels went neck-to-neck with Chura in the first two innings of the game with BJ Babauta firing score-tying homers in the first and second innings.

Catcher Marvin Palacios caught Fred Sato’s foul ball while third baseman Mart Naputi’s gloves went widely open to foil Chura’s two batters first base attempts in the top of the third.

The Island Rebels took the lead in the bottom of the third with Palacios and Ray Cepeda hitting an RBI single apiece.

Myron Sablan grand slammed for Chura to grab the lead in the top of the fourth.

Oscar Sablan and Craig Sanchez trimmed it down to two but Chura stretched it again in the fifth inning with Mel Sakisat hitting a solo shot.

The Island Rebels had a double play in the top of the sixth but not before Chura scored another run to pull farther away.

Fred Sato hit a solo home run for Chura and strengthened the lead again.

Roy Celis launched the rally in the bottom of the seventh by firing a two-run home run.  Babauta and Toi Celis singled before Aaron hit the winning homerun.

Natibu 25, Team Fuegu 4

The Natibu sluggers lambasted Team Fuegu with six base hits including lead batter, Kent Kalen’s solo home run in the top of the first inning.

JR Suel, Ned Norita and BJ Sablan doubled.

Suel fired his third base hit—a two run double in the third and Norita rockted a two-run HR and Natibu showed no mercy at Team Fuegu.

Kalen also drove in two runs with a home run in the fourth after Eric Lizama and Jonathan Welson hit run-scoring base hits to help secure their win.

Saipal 16, Ramblers 7

Cliffton Siliil led off a run-scoring double in the bottom of the third inning and Saipal went on to streak and beat the Ramblers.

Paython Sakuma drove in two runs and JD Dikito, three runs with their home runs and Saipan never trailed.

Lefty Shiro added a run-scoring double in the sixth inning cap their 16-7 victory.
