Jun Alipio, Junar Guiab, Andrew Estepa and Rhoel Aguilar came up a strong squad to start the first quarter against the short-handed CDG Pawnshop and put up a two figure cushion.
With each of its 12 players seeing action during each quarter, Konflikt maintained the lead as CDG, with Michael Surima and Roger Valencia scoring nine and four points respectively pushed it hard to close in towards the end of the first half.
Martin Moreno blasted from behind the arc and Guiab poured in six of his total points to help Konflikt stay afloat in the second quarter.
The CDG Pawnshop squad showing up without relievers including its triggerman, Jesse Stole struggled to keep pace behind Konflikt. Power forward Roger Valencia scored 18 of his 43 points and Surima adding four more points to help catch up in the third quarter.
Konflikt tightened its grip on CDG’s offense grabbing rebounds that converted into two-pointers in no time, and stretched the lead wider in this period.
Charles Sablan and Arnold Erediano’s appearance in the fourth quarter came too little, too little, as Konflikt continued to clobber CDG in this quarter with Moreno sinking nine of his 20 points including seven penalty shots.
Center Hae Jun Park who hit a three-pointer early in the fourth, capped their sure win with two consecutive two-pointers to finish with 13 points.
Moreno led Konflikt with a total of 20 points while Guiab tallied 16 points. Aguilar and De Guzman chipped in 10 and eight points respectively.
Konflikt now ties with Ebisuya who suffered first loss to IT&E on Saturday.
9ers 77, Brabu Bulls 75
Roy Miguel added six to his points and Sandy Quemado fired a two-pointer in the final quarter to bring back the lead in the last few minutes of the game to beat Brabu Bulls 77-75.
The 9ers were actually blowing the Brabu Bulls out in the three quarters of the game until Jack Palacios and Johnny Malicden surged to eight points apiece and Leo Factor delivered seven in the fourth quarter.
Time however, ran out for the Bulls to recover allowing the 9ers even the regular season.
Sandy Quemado poured in 10 points in the second quarter to tally a total of 20 points, while Roy Miguel protected their lead with 14 of his 21 points in the second half.
Miguel and Alan Lebria chipped in six and five points respectively in the fourth quarter.
