‘The Miracle Worker’ rescheduled for January

Friends of the Arts president Susan Fishman-Tudor said they have to adjust the performance date because of conflicts in casting schedules.

They are going through rehearsals now with the cast and crew.

“The Miracle Worker” features the life of Hellen Keller, a blind, deaf and  mute woman whose nanny taught her discipline and language through the use of her fingers. The method became a breakthrough that created a direct effect on everyone’s life and the way they live it.

Fishman-Tudor said “The Miracle Worker” will be staged at the new Marianas High School Theater in Susupe on Jan. 20, 21 and 22.

They hope to stage more plays there.

“As early as today, we are inviting the community to mark their calendars and be with us for another weekend of spectacular play featuring our local talents,” Fishman-Tudor said.

This weekend, Fishman-Tudor said Glushko’s Academy of Performing Arts will showcase excerpts from “The Swan Lake” at the American Memorial Park amphitheater.

Founded in 1979, Friends of the Arts is a non-profit local arts agency that produces community theater and musical productions throughout the year using local talent.
