Marines donate 800 toys to Tinian children

“The 800 toys donated by military families from the Navy, Air Force, Army, Marine Corps and Coast Guard enabled the joy of Christmas to be shared with the children of Tinian,” the Marine Corps Reserve stated in a release.

The Marine Corps Reserve donation was headed by Col. Robert Loynd, officer in charge, Marine Corps Activity-Guam.

Loynd said, “The Marine Corps Reserve believes that every child deserves a little Christmas, and with the help of our surrounding communities we have been able to send children a message of hope this Christmas through the gift of a new toy.”

In a release, the Marine Corps Reserve stated, “Limited shipping and aerial resupplies make access to traditional toys very difficult for the parents on Tinian. The opportunity to help Santa accomplish his mission on Tinian was one the Marines could not refuse.”
