In an interview with Variety, RNV Construction president Ruel R. Villacrusis said the decline will be evident in the first quarter of 2012 due to the further drop in population.
The sharp decline in the number of nonresident workers will continue, he added.
Of the remittances coursed through their office, Villacrusis said 20-25 percent were for savings and the rest were for use by the workers’ beneficiaries.
Villacrusis operates a remittance center affiliated with one of the largest banks in the Philippines, the Philippine National Bank.
But they also have tie-ups with other companies where families of Filipino nonresident workers can receive their money: Tambunting Pawshops, Globe G Cash outlets, Villarica Pawnshops, RD Pawnshops as well as hundreds of payout centers in the Philippines.
PNB Forex also provides the text confirmation service
Villacrusis said, “Your beneficiaries will receive a text message informing them that you, the sender, have already remitted money and it’s ready for pickup.”
Aside from remittances, PNB Forex facilitates opening of both peso and dollar savings accounts.
The beneficiaries can get their monies beyond banking hours, even on Saturday or Sunday.
He said they have over 2,700 outlets in the Philippines.
Those interested in opening an account must provide the following: two 2” x 2” pictures; three copies of the biographical page of the passport; triplicates of one’s Social Security card and driver’s license.
Interested individuals who would like to send money to the Philippines can either go to the RNV Construction office on Beach Road, call 233-7249 or visit any of the Villaroyal Pawnshops on island.{jcomments off}
