Heavyweights to headline Trench Warz 15

Lassiter will enter tonight’s main event with a 3-1 record, having lost his last bout against Korea’s Doo Hwan Kim last October.

“He’s the champion of two different programs so I think it’s gonna be a good fight,” said the Alabama native.

Representing Team Thug Cop Guam, Chong is more experienced with eight wins and eight losses under his belt. Since falling to current PXC heavyweight champion Kelvin Fitial in 2009, he’s just as motivated to snap his two-year break with a victory.

“I’m definitely looking forward to this. I’ve made some changes with my training,” Chong said.

Their 230-pound match up is the last of tonight’s 14-bout fight card. Marianas Elite’s Maitai “The Charger” Charley and Trench Tech veteran Fasi “Quikdraw” Jesse will face off in the semi-main event at 145 lbs.

Charley had earlier cracked his losing streak with a submission win over Ben Quinata. He lost to Brad Palacios by decision in Trench Warz 14 last June.

Like Lassiter, Jesse met the same fate at PXC 27 after losing to Jang Yong Kim. He now holds seven wins with four losses. Charley holds a 3-7 record.

The featherweight title will be on the line as Shane Alvarez (7-0) defends his belt — and unbeaten status — versus Countershot Guam’s Rob “The Real Deal” Wusstig (2-5).

Wusstig lost his last five bouts and appeared in Trench Warz 13 against Tomoya Kato.

Alvarez survived a five-round fight to clinch the title from Derrick Rangamar in Rites of Passage 11. The 145-pound athlete defeated Kevin Esteves by submission earlier this year.

The fight card also includes:

-Keith Corpuz vs. Martin “Ningbo Slice” Cepeda at 190 lbs.

-“Tabi” Jay Muna vs. Mark “The Dark” Nuique at 135 lbs.

-Ryan Toves vs. VJ “VinceSanity” Pua at 150 lbs.

-Josh “The Hedgehog” Alvarez vs. Josh “Chaos” Duenas at 135 lbs.

-Leandro Dalalo vs. Joe Duenas at 130 lbs.

-Jake “One Blow” Ilo vs. Craig “Earthquake” Borja

-Jared “Hoale Horror” Melon vs. Dung Castro at 175 lbs.

-Danny Agulto vs. Vince “The Clinch” Masga at 150 lbs.

-John Ilo vs. Rentz “The Intense” Benghit at 145 lbs. (kickboxing)

The fight card is subject to change according to Trench Tech president Cuki Alvarez.
