This year is Jam Sesh’s first to make public appearance at different agencies, said its musical director Rose Ada.
The group of 15 musical talents from SSHS is under the supervision of Arisa Peters.
Ada said the significance of their performance was that the manamko’ joined them in singing Christmas carols.
“It’s a good thing to entertain the manamko’ with songs this holiday season,” said Gerlyn Libunao, one of the performers.
Jam Sesh will sing at the Commonwealth Health Center today. Last Monday, they already played at the Pacific Islands Club.
Before Jam Sesh performed five songs at the Aging Center yesterday, a group of students from San Vicente Elementary School met with the senior citizens and gave them various fresh fruits.
The fruits were inspected to ensure the safety of the manamko’, Aging Center Director Rose Mondala said.
She also made make sure that all donations and gifts were equally distributed to the congregates.
Aging Center program coordinator Walter Manglona said the San Vicente Elementary School students also gave the manamko’ handmade Christmas cards.
“We are so blessed this holiday season,” he added. “Despite the economic problem we continue to receive gifts.”
Teresita Sorroza, Senior Citizens Advisory Council president, said their young visitors gave them hope and encouragement.
Also yesterday, a group from Grace Christian Assembly led by Alain Nunez sang Christmas songs and gave gifts to the manamko’.
