Letter to the Editor: To Congressman Kilili

You said you were working with appropriate departments of the U.S. government since early this year. During these working sessions did anyone object to the deadline, Nov. 27, because it was so close to Christmas?

This is spilled milk.  What’s important is how to help those affected by the “unemployable” status they  now face. By Christmas these folks would have been out of employ for four weeks.  That means two paychecks. The one-week pay they will receive prior to the November deadline layoffs probably will not even cover their CUC bill.

Since they cannot now be employed how can they legally earn income?  Can they  obtain home-based small business license? Is there anything these people can do  legally to earn something?

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas but NOT for the IR’s who lost their jobs.

In closing, congressman, is there anything new that will  give hope, especially for the IR’s?
