Feds OK Aging Office’s 4-year state plan

Her visit comes on the heels of the federal government’s approval of the  CNMI Four-Year State Plan on Aging for fiscal years 2012 to 2015.

Mondala said the approval “is very important” for the implementation of various local programs.

“This is a big plus for us,” she added.

The state plan complies with the requirements of the Older American Act or U.S. Public Law 109-365.

Mondala said one of the programs they presented in the state plan is the establishment of adult day care services.

She said the center currently provides traditional services only for the manamko’.

With the federal approval of the CNMI plan, she said the center will be getting U.S. funding for the Senior Community Employment Services program or Title V.
