Mafnas: No update on case of missing sisters

“It is in the best interest of the investigative process and effectiveness to not release any information at this time,” Mafnas said in an email to Variety.

Faloma Luhk, 10, and Maleina Luhk, 9, have been missing since May 25.

The total reward money for any information leading to the recovery of the sisters or prosecution of person or persons behind their disappearance is $50,000.

Call 911, the FBI at 322-6934, the girls’ family hotline at 285-4048 or the Crime Stoppers at 234-7272.

When asked about the status of the human remains found in Kagman almost two months ago, Mafnas told Variety: “We are currently waiting for results from the lab off-island.”

Last week, authorities took DNA samples from individuals believed to be immediate relatives of Ricardo Muna Quitugua, 72, whom family members called Uncle Rick or Tangrikat.

Ana Mangohig said she gave her DNA sample after authorities requested it.

She was told her DNA sample would be sent to Hawaii, where sample of the human remains found in Kagman were also sent.

“Uncle Rick is not there,” Mangohig told Variety, referring to Quitugua’s residence in Kagman, when asked if she believes that the human remains belonged to her uncle.
