Olopai is RGA’s October Ace

Olopai shot a 40 on the front nine and ended the back nine with 44, resulting with a 79 net.

The five-handicapper originally ranked fifth amongst eight golfers, trailing George Moses, Manny Mangarero, Eric Lizama, and junior golfer Lawrence Camacho Jr.

Moses, Mangarero, and Camacho each tied with a 75 net while Lizama edged Olopai with a 78 net.

Moses, a newcomer, did not participate in at least six RGA-sanctioned events this year and was disqualified.

Mangarero and Camacho — who already won the January and September tournaments — weren’t eligible for a second Ace title.

Lizama also did not meet the RGA’s minimum of six rounds this year.

Veteran golfer Jess Wabol trailed Olopai with an 82 net after shooting a 44 and 40 in the front and back nines, respectively. Tom Tebuteb gained an 81 net while Tony Rogolifoi scored 83.

Olopai also won ‘Closest to the Pin’ at hole No. 7.

RGA members now set their eyes on the upcoming Two-Man Scramble event at the Marianas Country Club on October 23.

Pairs are determined through raffle and team handicaps are calculated through the average of both players’ handicaps.

Entry fee is $30 per player. For single golfers, an extra ball costs $15.
