This will be the first “Mayor’s Halloween Treat for Children,” mayor’s office budget and fiscal officer Terry Camacho yesterday said.
“This is part of our community programs for the youth,” she added.
The event will start at 4 p.m. in the parking lot of the mayor’s office in San Antonio.
Camacho said they will set up a table and a tent and give away 1,000 bags of assorted treats.
The program will start early so the children can join the Halloween celebrations hosted by private organizations on island, she said.
According to Camacho, the operation at the mayor’s office will not be affected during the celebration.
Camacho said they are hoping to hold the event annually.
