Small Business Development Center to host series of workshops tomorrow and Thursday

The first of the two workshops, HUBZone Programs, will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday on the first floor of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce office in Garapan. The second workshop, SBA Programs, will be on Thursday morning at the same time and venue.

The HUBZone or Historically Underutilized Business Zones program encourages economic development and promote economic development and employment growth in distressed areas by providing access to more federal contracting opportunities. Participants will get an idea to determine if their businesses are eligible to receive HUBZone contracts, and get more information on how to qualify for the programs.

The SBA programs will give participants ideas on how they can get support for their diverse business needs — information related to technical, financial, contracting, education and disaster assistance, as well as special interests, advocacy and civil rights compliance.

The series of workshops which are presented by the Small Business Administration-Guam branch is open to the general public and anyone who is interested free of charge.

The CNMI Small Business Development Center is partially funded by a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration. SBA’s funding is not an endorsement of any product, opinion or services.
