The event, expected to attract over a hundred thousand travel trade reps, media reps, and potential travelers from the general public, was held on Sept. 30-Oct. 2 at the Tokyo Big Sight East Hall. JATA is a national organization of travel agents and suppliers promoting the travel and tourism industry.
“The JATA Travel Showcase is the Northern Marianas’ biggest and best opportunity to meet with Japanese travel reps who can help sell our destination, media reps who can help publicize our islands, and potential travelers deciding on their next destination,” said MVA marketing manager Bruce Bateman.
MVA conducted its Marianas workshop to update travel agents directly and in detail about the CNMI. The workshop was expected to attract over 110 travel agents plus media and was held at the Tokyo Bay Ariake Washington Hotel.
MVA is also gearing up for two trade shows and a travel fair on Guam in October targeting military personnel and their families. The Navy Travel Show will be held on Oct. 13, followed by the 7th Annual Anderson Travel Fair on Oct. 14. A Micronesian Travel Fair starts Oct. 15 and runs through Oct. 17 in Tamuning, Guam.
