Rotary Club president Pete Igitol presented a commemorative resolution to Tony Rogolifoi, the team manager, during the Rotary meeting at the Hyatt yesterday.
The CNMI team, which beat Guam, 8-4 for the gold medal, also eliminated defending champion Palau and the host team.
Team CNMI’s road to victory started with a 9-4 win versus Samoa. They previously lost two straight games against Guam (5-6) and New Caledonia (2-3). They defeated Fiji 2-1 prior o the playoffs and edged Palau, 1-0, earlier.
The CNMI team was composed of Vicente Cepeda, Jerome Delos Santos, Franco Flores, Miguel and Jesus Iguel, Thomas Joab, Joshua Jones, Byron Kaipat, Keoni Lizama, Juan Maratita, Tyrone Omar, Manny Sablan, coach Craig Sanchez, Elton Santos, Eric Tenorio and Ian Rogolifoi, score keeper.
